Kraft Italian Vinaigrette with Extra Virgin Olive Oil - A step in the right direction
Ingredients: WATER, VINEGAR, EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL, SUGAR, CANOLA OIL, SALT, CONTAINS LESS THAN 2% OF GARLIC*, RED BELL PEPPERS*, CARROTS*, SPICE, XANTHAN GUM, ONIONS*, LEMON JUICE CONCENTRATE GREEN ONIONS*, POTASSIUM SORBATE AND CALCIUM DISODIUM EDTA PRESERVATIVES. *DRIED.
I could do without the preservatives, but all the same, this is better than some of the other MSG-rich dressings out there.
It does remind me, though, of something I read in a book called Wild Fermentation, in which the author Ellix Katz mentioned that it doesn't make sense to buy salad dressing at the store, but instead that its extremely easy to just make at home (and his book included a couple recipes for dressings, as I recall.) Food, Inc.
A fascinating look at where food comes, with some fairly brutal scenes from some Tyson chicken plants. Much good information presented, including the dangers to health and to the environment. What was most inspiring to me was seeing the life of the organic farmer that was presented. I don't remember his name, but his farm was an excellent display of how organic, natural farming SHOULD be done instead.
There is a lot of good information presented, but so much more on the subject could have been said. I rented this from the library, but its also currently streamable on netflix.

Good to hear - I wonder what this will mean for the sale of fluoridated water?
